Shows versus movies, comedies versus romances, and scary versus delightful. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to the cinematic experience. And when it comes to the home, each resident has a different reason for choosing cable or the more popular now a days, a live streaming option.
The live streaming option has become the preferred viewer’s experience with the ability to choose which shows or movies to watch instead of having to channel surf. One of the more popular, Netflix, has this ability at a very low price of $7.95 a month. But, Netflix now has some competition.
Amazon has stepped up their game by adding the Amazon Prime to their franchise. This feature allows you to stream movies and shows just like Netflix, but for an annual fee of $79. This comes out to be cheaper than Netflix for a monthly price of $6.58.
Aside from the price, Amazon Prime offers a wider selection of movies and shows. However, for movies and shows that are not a part of your membership, there is an additional rental fee of $1.99-$9.99 per rental.
Amazon Prime also offers more features other than the television factor. With the membership, you receive free two-day shipping for your orders and free books each month for your Kindle. However, there are limitations to these two features. The free two-day shipping doesn’t go towards ALL orders and the free book each month only applies to the Kindle First and the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library.
And, with the Apple TV and Chromecast coming into play, Amazon Prime works with one while Netflix works with the other. The Amazon Prime is compatible with the Apple TV versus Netflix which is compatible with Chromecast. However, if you have Amazon Prime and want to stream it on Chromecast, you can display cast your Amazon Prime through a web browser.
Although there are pros and cons to everything, in this situation, Amazon Prime is the winner. With a lower price and more features than Netflix, it is worth trying.
